Overview
Irish violinist Róisín Verity joined WNO in 2021 having previously been principal first violin with chamber orchestra Britten Sinfonia, with whom she has performed in many noteworthy venues from Wigmore Hall to the Lincoln Centre, New York. Róisín has performed as guest concertmaster with orchestras throughout the UK.
Róisín's performance of The Lark Ascending with RTE Concert Orchestra was broadcast on RTE Lyric FM, and her self-directed tour of America with the RIAM chamber orchestra culminated in performances at Weill Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Club, New York. Róisín also performs as a first violinist of the Liverpool String Quartet and works with contemporary ensemble the London Sinfonietta. She has premiered works by Steve Reich, Raymond Deane and Gerald Barry. Since moving to Cardiff, Róisín has established chamber music series, The Chamber Stiwdio, with her husband, WNO principal clarinettist Thomas Verity.
