Sally Matthews

Sally Matthews is a British soprano and was a member of the Royal Opera House young artists’ programme. Her appearances in the 2023/2024 Season include Leonore Fidelio (Berlin Staatsoper); The Governess Turn of the Screw (La Monnaie, Brussels) and Emilia Marty The Makropulos Case (Concertgebouw, Amsterdam). During the 2022/2023 Season, Sally performed as Blanche de la Force Dialogues des Carmélites (Glyndebourne), The Marschallin Der Rosenkavalier and Tatyana Eugene Onegin (La Monnaie and Norwegian National Opera). In concert, Sally has appeared with the L’Orchestra Symphonique de la Monnaie and Alain Altinoglu; Orchestra of Opéra de Rouen and Ben Glassberg; and the Dresden Philharmonie in a programme of Mozart and Mahler. She performed one of her signature pieces, Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri, with the Orquesta Sinfonica di Navarra and returned to the titular role of Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen in Amsterdam.
