Sir Simon Keenlyside

Simon Keenlyside was born in London and initially studied Zoology at Cambridge University. His versatile repertoire has taken him to all major opera houses around the globe, including the Metropolitan Opera New York, the Royal Opera House London, Paris Opera, La Scala Milan, Teatro Real Madrid, Zurich Opera House, the Salzburg Festival and the Bavarian, Berlin and Vienna State Operas. He is also a much sought after recitalist and concert singer. An extensive discography and many awards document his impact on the music industry. He has been appointed as Austrian Chamber Singer, a CBE and was knighted in the Queen’s Honours for services to Music. 

Recent role highlights include the title roles of Rigoletto, Macbeth, Don Giovanni, Hamlet, Wozzeck, and Germont La traviata, Iago Otello, Ford Falstaff, Posa Don Carlo, Count Almaviva The Marriage of Figaro, Papageno The Magic Flute, Golaud Pelléas et Mélisande, Valentin Faust, Wolfram Tannhäuser, Prospero The Tempest and Yeletsky Pique Dame. Upcoming role debuts include title roles of Falstaff and Simon Boccanegra.
