Sophie Bevan
Overview
Sophie Bevan was born in London and studied at the Royal College of Music. She works regularly with leading orchestras and appears frequently at the Edinburgh, Salzburg, Aldeburgh and the BBC Proms festivals. As an acclaimed recitalist, she has performed at many prestigious venues including the Concertgebouw and Wigmore Hall. Her work in opera has led her to perform many leading lyric roles at houses including Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, WNO, ENO, Teatro Real and the Metropolitan Opera. She was made an MBE for services to music in 2019.
Recent engagements: Messiah (Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra), Magnificat (Ryan Wiggleworth/BBC Symphony Orchestra), Seven Deaths of Maria Callas (English National Opera) & Requiem Brahms and Songs of the Auvergne: Book Five by Canteloube (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra).
