Born in Australia, Irish mezzo-soprano Sophie Yelland studied voice at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, as well as cello at the University of Adelaide. She has worked for companies including Victorian Opera, Opera Australia, ENO and Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and has performed at the ROH. Sophie joined the full-time WNO Chorus in 2018 and also maintains a studio where she teaches cello, violin, piano, singing and music theory.
