Overview
Clarinettist Thomas Verity grew up in Sheffield and studied for his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Manchester. Thomas joined WNO Orchestra as Principal Clarinet in 2019, with whom his highlights so far have included performances at the Prague Spring Festival and in Dubai. Prior to this, he was Associate Clarinet at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and was a member of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for seven years.
Thomas recently established his own concert series, The Chamber Stiwdio in Cardiff, with his wife Róisín (a fellow member of WNO Orchestra as Principal Second Violin). He is also a founding member of Klezmer-ish, a classical quartet exploring music from across the world, whose concert appearances include Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall, the Tung Auditorium and The Green Note in London. The group have released two albums and performed live as featured artists on BBC Radio 3’s World on Three.
