Tomos Owen Jones
Welsh baritone Tomos Owen Jones is currently studying under Adrian Thompson and Jeff Stewart at Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, generously supported by the Olwen Phillips Memorial Scholarship. Tomos sung the role of Gwydion the Magician in Stephen McNeff’s 2117/Hedd Wyn with WNO Youth Opera. Since then, he has performed with the Company as Count Heinrich The Black Spider. Engagements at RWCMD include Antonio The Marriage of Figaro and The Baritone in Tom Johnson’s Four Note Opera. Tomos has also created roles including Y (Julia Plaut’s The Y Knot) and Baritone (Richard Barnard’s Nonsensus) with Operasonic. Tomos has also performed Vaughan-Williams’ Five Mystical Songs and Dvorak’s Stabat Mater. Tomos’ compositions have received performances by many ensembles including BBC NOW and WNO Orchestra. He is Musical Director of May Street Opera and recently conducted Hansel and Gretel (RWCMD).
