Meet WNO

Yvonne Howard

Born in Stafford, Yvonne studied at the Royal Northern College of Music before becoming a Chorus member at Glyndebourne, where she was a soloist for three years. Her busy international career has seen Yvonne work with conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Sir Colin Davies, Sir Antonio Pappano, Sir Charles Groves, James Loughran, Sir Simon Rattle and Richard Farnes. Yvonne has performed regularly with Opera North, ENO, ROH, Scottish Opera, Garsington and Opera Holland Park and her major roles have included Leonora Fidelio (ROH and Opera Holland Park) and the Wagner Ring Cycle roles of Fricka, Waltraute, Second Norn, various Valkyries and Sieglinde, the latter role which she recorded with Sir Mark Elder and the Hallé Orchestra. Yvonne now combines her singing work with that of Vocal Professor at the RNCM.
