Welsh National Opera is delighted to be taking part in a scheme which supports young people in gaining valuable,meaningful experience in a paid role for at least six months. Our placement will give you the experience you need to get a foot in the door in your chosen profession.

The Kickstart Scheme aims to develop transferable skills and increase the opportunity for sustained employment. The scheme offers six-month work placements, using grant funding to support 16 to 24 year olds who are at risk of long-term unemployment.

To apply for these Kickstart roles you must be aged 16 – 24, unemployed and in receipt of Universal Credit. Please note all applicants must be referred by their DWP work coach before they apply.

We’re looking for someone to join the Kickstart scheme as an Administrator in Welsh National Opera subsidiary Company Cardiff Theatrical Services.  

What would the role involve? 

  • Providing general administration support to the CTS Administration Team.
  • Carry out reception desk duties, including greeting visitors and answering the telephone.
  • Support the management team with the administration of Health and Safety documentation.
  • Support the Administrator with courier arrangements.
  • Work with the Administrator to review and refine existing systems and processes.
  • Transferring paper files into electronic files.
  • Maintaining electronic and other filing systems and project files.
  • Organising and data cleansing the CTS drive
