Welsh National Opera shares the power of live opera with audiences and communities across Wales and England – in theatres, in neighbourhoods and online.
WNO Orchestra is a world-class ensemble, earning critical acclaim since its formation as a full-time body in 1970. As well as delivering a varied and challenging main-scale opera programme, the orchestra performs a wide range of symphonic and chamber concerts with Music Director Tomáš Hanus and the Leader of the Orchestra David Adams.
WNO Orchestra has an increasingly-extended remit through its residencies and community work, and strong links have been forged through innovative programmes with the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Birmingham Conservatoire.
WNO is seeking a dynamic and committed Sub-Principal Clarinet to join our Orchestra, including sitting Section Principal Clarinet and playing Bass Clarinet, Bassett Horn and Eb Clarinet as required.
The audition will consist of 2 rounds. Those applicants invited to stay for the second round will be heard on the same day.
Further information about the audition process / requirements (including set pieces / excerpts / information about the two rounds / etc) will be sent to shortlisted applicants only.
Further audition dates may be scheduled if necessary, but there are no plans to do so at this stage, and WNO cannot guarantee additional dates being offered.
