Tutti First Violin

Welsh National Opera shares the power of live opera with audiences and communities across Wales and England – in theatres, in neighbourhoods and online.

We are seeking an outstandingTutti First Violin (playing Tutti Second Violin as required) to join the busy WNO Orchestra, participating in their eclectic mix of opera performances, symphonic concerts, chamber music, digital work and education projects across the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will have a very high standard of technical instrumental skill, musicality and performance and experience of playing with professional opera/ballet/symphony orchestras. 

Audition Requirements: Audition requirements will be posted on the WNO website.

Shortlisted Applicants will be invited to submit a first round video audition by Monday 26 September (those shortlisted will be informed by Monday 5 September).

Second round auditions will take place in person in Cardiff, during week commencing 17 October 2022. Selected candidates may then be invited to play with the orchestra on the same day as part of the audition process (video auditions considered on request).
