Odyssey The Seligman Youth Opera Showcase

This May, WNO Youth Opera invites you on an epic adventure with Odyssey, a thrilling operatic retelling of the legendary journey of Odysseus from the Trojan War. Performed at the iconic Wales Millennium Centre in the intimate Weston Studio this dynamic showcase brings this ancient myth vividly to life.

Performed by up to 65 young singers aged 10-18, alongside two Youth Opera alumni soloists, this powerful production celebrates the extraordinary artistry and talent of the next generation. With a fusion of musical theatre and opera, this dynamic production is performed in English, with surtitles in Welsh and English and together with a BSL interpreter on stage, creates an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone.

Composed by Ben Moore with a libretto by Kelley Rourke, Odyssey has previously captivated audiences at the New York Met Youth Opera and now it’s Wales turn! Join us for a bold, imaginative voyage filled with music, myth and youthful energy.
