It is with great sadness that we at Welsh National Opera acknowledge the passing of David Seligman OBE.
David had been with the Company for many years, as Board Member (1989 - 2000), WNO Friend, WNO Partner, corporate supporter and major donor. He and his late wife Philippa took great joy in sharing their love of the performing arts and were generous supporters of WNO’s work, encouraging and supporting young performers and young talents through their support for WNO Youth Opera.
Sara Evans, WNODavid's death is a huge loss to WNO and everyone who knew him. He was a private man and yet so giving of his time, his interest and kindness, to say nothing of his generosity. He and Philippa were very special people and I feel honoured to have known them
David was a long-standing and highly respected member of the Cardiff business community and he and Philippa were major philanthropists, expressed through their involvement with many arts organisations in Cardiff and beyond.
David was generous, kind, sincere, a fountain of knowledge and he will be greatly missed.
