It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… and we know it’s often a challenge to find special presents for the people you love. That’s why we’ve put together this gift guide for all those who love to engage with the Arts. Whether your recipient is an opera buff, a live music lover or an all-round theatre fan, we’re confident that we can offer them a slice of magic this festive season!
Opera tickets
What better Christmas treat than a ticket to the opera? In Spring 2026 we are staging two soul-stirring productions which are not to be missed! Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman is perfect for anyone who enjoys old legends, love triangles and anything mystical. Meanwhile, Blaze of Glory!, composed by David Hackbridge Johnson with a libretto by Emma Jenkins, will suit those with a passion for community, Welsh history and the power of music – if they like Brit Flicks such as Brassed Off or Billy Elliot they’ll love this!

Programmes
If the person you’re buying for has already got opera tickets, a programme is a great gift, especially if you’re on a tight budget. You can pre-order one for just £6 on our online Shop. While it won’t be ready in time for Christmas, it will be a lovely memento to unwrap in the run-up to the show.
Concert tickets
During the colder months, there is something especially magical about going to a classical music concert. Why not give someone you love the chance to celebrate the New Year in style with WNO Orchestra at A New Year’s Celebration? Or treat them to a charming Valentine’s Day concert with Christopher Ward and Justina Gringytė.

A gift for the whole family
Our family show Play Opera LIVE Shipwrecked! is lots of fun for everyone. Not only will we put on a swashbuckling performance, but we also offer fabulous pre-show foyer activities, allowing families to enjoy a full day out at the theatre together. This is the kind of present they won’t forget!

WNO Membership
Trying to buy for an opera super-fan? Look no further… With WNO Membership, your loved one can enjoy VIP treatment, gaining access to dress rehearsals, priority booking, regular e-newsletters and more. All of this while supporting us to continue our wonderful work on and off the opera stage – it really is a gift that gives twice.
We hope we’ve given you a few gift ideas for those you care about. From all of us at Welsh National Opera: ‘Happy Holidays!’ We can’t wait to continue making music and theatre in 2026.
