
Andrew Henley
Overview
Originally from Monmouth, Andrew studied at the University of Exeter, the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and the National Opera Studio.
Previously for WNO he has sung Father Grenville in Heggie’s Dead Man Walking and covered the title role in Candide. His other solo engagements have included productions with Opéra de Lyon, Immling Festival, Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater, Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera, Opera North and Wexford Festival Opera.
Concert engagements include: Handel’s Messiah (Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra), Purcell’s The Fairy Queen (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) and Mendelssohn’s Elijah (Brandenburg Sinfonia).
Andrew has won several awards including the 2025 Pendine International Voice of the Future Award at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, the 2023 John Scott Award from Scottish Opera and the 2019 Dunraven Young Welsh Singer of the Year.
