Support Ainadamar

WNO will bring you opera as you have never seen it before with a brand-new production of Ainadamarcoming to Cardiff and our touring venues in Autumn 2023.

Ainadamar is the story of the famed Spanish poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, whose tale of love, loss, and untimely death emerge through the memories of Margarita Xirgu, his muse and friend.

Weaving together a variety of influences from opera to traditional Andalucian folk music results in a unique musical experience all performed by a trio of exceptional female singers - Jaquelina Livieri and Julieth Lozano.  The piece is directed and choreographed by Olivier Award winner Deborah Colker and conducted by Matthew Kofi Waldren.

The support we receive helps productions like Ainadamar come to life and we’re grateful that Colwinston Charitable Trust, as part of a larger gift, have pledged to match all donations towards Ainadamar against a target of £40,000.  As a result, the value of any gift you make will be doubled.
